The world slows down when you are fishing. The rhythm of the cast, the slow reeling in of your bait, the ripples on the water. Campers participating in our fishing program build a foundation for the basics of fishing. Our trained staff help campers learn how to bait a fishing line with salmon eggs and how to follow catch-and-release guidelines. Campers learn patience as they work to catch a fish and connection as they chat on the shoreline. Our spring-fed ponds and streams are stocked with rainbow trout, so campers are bound to reel something in. Don’t let the solemn nature of fishing fool you as no two days at the Cheley Pond are the same!
