As the sun set over Signal Mountain and the echoes of the North Fork quieted once more, Boys’ Trail’s End wrapped up an unforgettable Summer 2025. From the thrill of first arrivals to the bittersweet goodbyes, the season was rich with triumph, challenge, laughter, and legacy. In the crisp Colorado air, bonds deepened, courage was tested, and memories were forged to last a lifetime.
Guided by Cade Oster, Ryan Schoolman, and Dylan Meyer, our hiking program climbed high this summer, literally and figuratively. Campers ventured to alpine lakes and iconic peaks—and for the first time in over 15 years, BTE successfully completed the legendary Mummy Massacre, a grueling multi-peak challenge that tested endurance and spirit. We proudly recognize the following campers for earning their Junior Hiking Basics and Patch: Arthur Baker and William Olson. On the Senior side, congratulations to Charlie Andersen, Jeramy Moore, Benjamin Ikenberry, Charles Bierbaum, and Charles Brown for earning their Senior Hiking Basics and Patch.
The backpacking program, led by Jim Ber and Will Chasse, took campers into the backcountry for multi-day adventures through wild terrain. These treks built confidence, endurance, and deep friendship. Hats off to our Junior Backpacking Basics and Patch recipients: August Lull, Edward Codr, and Finley Zimmerman, and to our Senior recipients: Brandon Scott, Charles Bierbaum, Charlie Andersen, Darien Hull, Edvard Pahlson-Moller, Elif Ferruzzo, Max Brandt, Rory Neren, and Sutton Zimmerman.
The riding program was led with heart and horsemanship by Greg Meyer, Max Kelly, and Chance Zimmerman. The Outcamping program, facilitated by Trevor Wilkerson and Luke Chasse, invited campers to connect deeply with nature, slow down, and bond around the campfire. Congratulations to Quinn Nordlander, Rhys Campbell, Edvard Pahlson-Moller, and John Conrad for earning their Outcamping Basics and Patch.
Whether it was skits under the stars or new adventures like Cheley Studios and tennis day in sports, the BTE courtyard came alive with creativity and joy. Crafts, led by Isa Dinar, gave campers the chance to create with their hands, building both projects and confidence in the process.

The On the Trail Patch recognizes those who spent 15+ days in program areas beyond the unit. We applaud Andrew Salmon, Arthur Baker, Beck Bordelon, Benjamin Ikenberry, Edward Codr, Enzo D’Agata, Gray Montgomery Maloney, Harrison Barnard, Jake Emdur, Lukas Cyran, Nikita Sommers, Teos White, Vic Staab, Wolfgang Schmid, Elliot Leighton, and Henry Haddock.
Crafts, led by Isa Dinar, was a hub of creativity and connection. From leather to tie-dye projects, Isa brought energy, encouragement, and artistry to every camper who walked through the door.

Campfires, led by Alex Stern, were legendary: from Wagon Wars to Capture the Flag, to evenings with truly Immaculate Vibes. Our All-Camp Campfire skits included a comedic rendition of Shrek in Term 1 and a dramatic Revolutionary War reenactment in Term 2.
Our CILTs (Campers in Leadership Training) served as role models and helpers throughout camp. These returning senior campers take on additional leadership responsibilities, guide younger campers, and assist staff in leading activities, traditions, and discussions. Thank you to Term 1’s Thomas Leman, Jr., Cayden Six, and Owen Zimmerman, and Term 2’s Duncan Campbell, Luke Johnston, and Orion Kaufman for their mentorship and example.
Each term, the boys wrote their Code of Living, a reflection of the values they chose to live by. Term 1 honored Authenticity, Maturity, Tenacity, Discipline, and Fellowship. Term 2 lifted up Passion, Brotherhood, Humility, Grounded, and Maturity. From these codes, we recognized campers who lived them fully. Drivers of the Covered Wagon are campers who embody the values of the Code, stepping into informal leadership roles and keeping the spirit of camp alive. Congratulations to: Elliot Leighton, Finley Zimmerman, Freddie Wold, Luke Falconer, Rhys Campbell, and Wolfgang Schmid. Top Hands are recognized for consistently modeling maturity, inclusivity, and resilience. They uphold tradition, take initiative, and care for their community in visible and quiet ways. We celebrate Cayden Six, Charlie Andersen, Duncan Campbell, Edvard Pahlson-Moller, Jeramy Moore, and Lukas Cyran.
A special congratulations to Jackson Cheley, who earned his Tyrolean—a fourth-degree mountaineer recognition representing years of effort, grit, and achievement across multiple hiking disciplines. Earning the Tyrolean is a rare and prestigious honor at Cheley, requiring extensive experience and excellence in backpacking, hiking, and outcamping, as well as demonstration of leadership and positive influence in the program.
And to all campers who earned multiple awards, took on leadership roles, or supported others through their Cheley journey—thank you for being the heart of BTE.
Until we gather again in the tall pines of the North Fork, carry the Code with you. Your BTE family will be here, cheering you on, until next summer.
With deep pride and thanks,
Joe Kelly, Director
Bennett Wagnon & Jack Quinn, Asst. Directors
