Never shot a real gun before? Don’t worry! In our riflery program, campers learn that using a firearm is a serious responsibility and that safety is paramount. Each unit has its own range with an elevated platform with official paper targets suspended on fixed frames that accommodate multiple shooters. Wearing ear and eye protection, campers shoot .22 caliber smallbore rifles (our youngest campers shoot air rifles). Certified instructors teach range commands as well as proper form, technique, and concentration skills. As campers fine-tune their skills and shoot more consistently, they progress through different shooting positions and have the chance to earn patches and pins. Your first shot in the black is always a great thrill!
