Imagine mounting a horse for the first time, then, hours later cantering around the riding ring on your favorite horse, completely connected with this 1,000-pound animal. During an instructional ring ride (one of many offerings in our horseback riding program), our excellent wranglers teach campers proper Western riding form, handling skills, and control as well as the essentials of grooming, tying knots, saddling, and bridling. In one of five riding rings, campers practice mounting and dismounting, walking, trotting and cantering, groundwork, and sometimes riding English. No ring ride is complete without barebacking, jumping, drill patterns, or a few games, whether it be Red Light, Green Light, Simon Says, or weaving through an Obstacle Course!
