Ceramics

Full Day

In “Sir Amic’s Shop,” campers experience every aspect of being a ceramic artist while developing their technical and formal skills. Under the direction of our Ceramics Coordinator, campers explore their creativity through hand building, wheel throwing, and a range of surface treatments and glazing techniques. We also introduce to campers the key skills of pinching, coiling, scoring, blending, and slab. Campers wanting to learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing will enjoy plenty of instructor-led practice time. Our Ceramics studio features a large worktable with dedicated spaces for clay, slip making, and glazing, two potter’s wheels, and two electric kilns. We maintain a regular schedule of kiln firings to ensure that campers complete their projects.
