Schedule a Summer Tour

There’s something powerful about seeing Cheley in action. While photos and stories help paint the picture, nothing compares to walking our trails, meeting campers and counselors, and feeling the spirit of summer in the Rockies.

The best time to tour Cheley is while camp is in session, from June 16 to August 16. We offer guided tours by request only, preferably at 10:00 AM or 1:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. Tours last about one hour and are led by a member of our staff, usually our Enrollment Manager, who will help you get a true sense of what life at Cheley is like.

Because tours are not offered every day and must be scheduled in advance, we ask that you please don’t arrive at camp without a confirmed time. If your availability doesn’t match our usual tour windows, please let us know! We’ll do our best to accommodate.

Additional Ways to See Cheley

In addition to our standard guided tours, we offer a few select opportunities during the summer to experience Cheley in different ways.

Not sure which option is right for you? Preview Day is designed for families new to Cheley, while Quarter B-4 tours are for campers already enrolled in that program.

Preview Day (for prospective families)

June 26 · 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Preview Day offers a deeper look into camp for families who are new to Cheley. The day begins with a guided tour and Q&A with our team, followed by lunch and afternoon activities for prospective campers, giving them the chance to experience a bit of camp firsthand.

Quarter B-4 Tour Days (for enrolled families)

June 19 & July 24 · 1:00 – 3:30 PM

These afternoons are designed specifically for families with campers enrolled in our Quarter B-4 program. Campers will spend time at camp, meet staff, and get comfortable in the environment ahead of their session, while parents can connect with our team and ask questions.

Standard Summer Tours

Available by request · 10:00 AM or 1:30 PM

A one-hour guided tour of camp while in session. You’ll walk through key areas of camp, observe activities in action, and have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with our team.

Can’t make it to Colorado this summer? You can still explore Cheley from wherever you are.

Virtual Tour

If you’re not able to visit us in person, our virtual tour is a great way to get a feel for camp from wherever you are. Explore camp, see key areas, and start to picture what a summer at Cheley looks like.

If you’re unable to visit during the summer, we can also arrange off-season tours. Please note that Cheley is quiet and closed down outside of our summer months. Staff is limited, buildings are closed, and you’ll experience camp in its natural stillness rather than its bustling energy. For some families, this visit still provides a helpful sense of our setting and facilities.
