Introducing the Cheley App

After more than 15 years using the Cheley Connection, we’re stepping into something new! Introducing the Cheley App, powered by Bunk1. It’s a big change, and we want to walk you through what’s different, what’s improved, and how we hope this will make your summer experience even better.

The new Cheley App brings you a smoother, more mobile-friendly way to view camp photos, send one-way emails (called Bunk Notes), and receive updates from camp—all in one place. And unlike the Cheley Connection, which only operated during the summer, the Cheley App is available year-round. That means we’ll be able to send occasional push notifications and reminders to keep you in the loop, even after the season ends.

We know this is a big shift, especially since some features like Bunk Notes that used to be free are now part of paid bundles. Change isn’t always easy, but we made this move to Bunk1 because it offers the most thoughtful and flexible tools to improve how we keep you connected to your camper’s summer.

We want to be clear: payment for upgraded bundles goes directly to Bunk1 for the services they provide. Viewing the daily photo gallery and receiving camp updates will still be free. We’re also enhancing things on our end: giving our staff easier, faster ways to upload photos throughout the week. We hope that you’ll see more moments, feel more in the loop, and experience an even stronger sense of connection to your camper’s time at Cheley.

And if mobile apps aren’t your thing, no worries! There’s also a web version at Bunk1.com that offers the same features and flexibility from your desktop.

What You’ll Be Able to Do

  • Browse and download daily photos posted each morning by 11:00 am MT. Not every camper appears in every daily gallery—they might be in the backcountry or on an overnight—but we aim to capture a wide variety each day.
  • Send Bunk Notes to your camper (we print them daily at 1:00 pm MT, except Sundays). Just like emails in the past, but now through the app!
  • Receive updates from camp, including reminders, blog posts, and key info.
  • Use photo tagging and facial recognition to get notified when your camper appears.
  • Create photo keepsakes, like mugs, photo books, or prints.

Weekly Reports Will Now Be Emailed

This is important: Weekly Reports are no longer accessed through a login portal and are not part of the app. Instead, we will email you a Weekly Report every Tuesday at 10:00 am MT. These include your camper’s schedule for the week, highlights, growth moments, and insights into your camper’s experience from their Go-To Counselor. If you don’t receive your report, just email us and we’ll resend it.

Choosing a Bundle (Yes, There’s a Free One!)

When you sign up, you’ll choose from several bundles. All bundles are per camper and valid for the entire summer.

  • The Free Bundle gives you access to the photo gallery and updates.
  • Paid bundles offer Bunk Note credits, facial recognition & photo tagging, and unlimited photo downloads.

We recommend one account per household to avoid duplicate charges. While you can invite relatives, doing so prompts them to create a separate account and select a separate bundle.

How to Get Started

  1. Download the Cheley Colorado Camps App on iOS or Android
  2. Tap Sign Up and enter the code CHELEY2025
  3. Create your account, add your camper(s) and unit(s), and choose a bundle

How do I create a Bunk1 Account?

  1. Download the Cheley Colorado Camps App in the iOS App Store or Google Play.
  2. Tap SIGN UP at the bottom of the screen and use the Invitation Code: CHELEY2025
  3. Enter Your Information to Create an Account
  4. Enter Your Camper’s Information
  5. Tap Get Started
  6. Select a Bundle

Do I have to pay to use the Cheley App?

No. There is a Free Bundle that gives you access to daily photos and camp updates. Paid bundles include extras like Bunk Note credits, photo tagging, and unlimited downloads.

Bundles are per camper and are valid for the entire camp season and will reset on January 1, 2026.

Can I upgrade my bundle later?

Yes! You can upgrade your bundle at any time through the app by tapping the menu icon and selecting “Upgrade.” Keep in mind that the best pricing is available when you first sign up, so we encourage families to select the bundle that best fits their needs from the start.

Can relatives use the app too?

Yes, but inviting others to create their own accounts will prompt them to select and pay for a separate bundle. We recommend sharing one account per household.

What if I forget my password?

Use the “Need to reset your password?” link on the login page to receive a password reset email from Bunk1 Customer Care. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder or email support@bunk1.com.

What if I need help with my account or a technical issue?

Contact Bunk1 Support 7 days a week via support@bunk1.com or call (212) 974-9112. They typically respond within 24 hours.
