The minimum contract dates required:

  • Transportation Crew:June 1st - August 11th
  • Directors and Assistant Directors:June 3rd - August 10th

  • Pre-camp Work Team:

August 10th through Labor Day (flexible start and end date, and very fun! Even two extra days are great!)
  • Family Camp:
August 10th - August 15th
  • Burn Camp:
August 14th - August 23rd
  • Discovery (Outdoor Education):
August 21st - End of October

Information
  • Wilderness First Aid will be offered at camp on June 4th - June 5th. This is a required course for the Sports counselors in the older units, and all Horseback, Backpacking and Hiking counselors. General and General/Outcamping counselors are also strongly recommended to take the course. Cost will be determined at a later date. CPR and First Aid are required for all counseling and childcare staff, and CPR is required for the Transportation Crew, Barn Crew, Directors, and Assistant Directors. CPR is not in included in the Wilderness First Aid Training.
  • Cheley is proud to offer 3 college credit hours (undergraduate or graduate) for completing our eight-day staff training. Look for more information as you progress through the hiring process.
  • What we need from you: A completed application, resume, three references on the enclosed forms, and a personal or phone interview. We begin our hiring process in December with our returning staff and start traveling throughout the Midwest to interview at schools and colleges in February. After we receive your completed application, we will contact you.
