2012 campers may enroll for 2013 during the summer of 2012. Applications are mailed home with weekly reports. Parents may also download applications from the web site, register online, or register at Final Weekend in person.
2012 Family Camp campers must register while at Family Camp to ensure a space for 2013.
September 15th: Campers who took a year off, or had a family member attend Cheley may enroll. (Alumni enrollment).
October 1st: Brand new families may enroll.
October 1st: Lottery is held for Family Camp spaces. Any family not receiving a space will go on the waitlist. All applications received after this date will go on the waitlist.
November 1st: 2013 rates go into effect. Families that enrolled before this date receive the 2012 pricing.
January 1st: Cancellation fee increases from $150 to $300. First payment is due. Discount if full tuition is received in January.
January 20th: First mailing sent out. Included is the Health/Medical form, Travel Instructions, Final Weekend Schedule, Hotel List, Equipment List, Name tape/label order forms.
February 1st: Cancellation fee increases to $400.
March 1st: Cancellation fee increases to $600. Second payment is due.
March 20th: Second mailing is sent out. Included is the Camper/Parent information form, Travel Plans, Emergency Contact, Camp Store form and Additional Charges Form. All forms are due in the Cheley Office no later than May 1st.
April 1st: Cancellation fee increases to $700.
May 1st: Cancellation fee increases to $800. Third and final payment is due. All forms must be returned to office by this date.
May 15th: Cheley Office staff move from Denver to Estes Park.
June 1st: No refund is given if cancellation occurs after this date.
June 13th Wednesday: First term campers arrive! Flights should land between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Car drop offs should occur between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.
July 6th Friday: 5:30 to 7:30 PM – Parents and Guests Dinner at the Fish Creek Ranch. Cheley Camps will be hosting a dinner for parents and guests that are in town on Friday night. Campers WILL NOT attend the dinner since they will be involved in the final closure with their fellow campers.
July 7th Saturday:
  • 9:00 am Horseshow for Lower Chipeta and Lower Ski Hi followed by a complimentary BBQ lunch.
  • 11:00 am Horseshow for Chipeta and Ski Hi followed by a complimentary BBQ lunch.
  • 12:30 BBQ lunch for Senior Chipeta and Haiyaha followed by Horseshow.
  • 12:30 BBQ lunch for BTE & GTE followed by Horseshow.
  • 6:15 pm Recognition Campfire for Lower Chipeta.
  • 7:00 pm Recognition Campfire for Chipeta.
  • 7:30 pm Recognition Campfire for Senior Chipeta, Girls' Trail's End and Boys' Trail's End.
July 8th Sunday:
  • Chapel begins at 11:00. Guests are welcome to attend Chapel and bring a picnic lunch to eat on property with campers after Chapel. Campers return to their units by 1:30 pm to pack and participate in closing activities.
  • 6:30 pm Recognition Campfires for Lower Ski Hi
  • 7:00 pm Recognition Campfires for Ski Hi
  • 7:30 pm Recognition Campfire for Haiyaha
July 9th Monday: First term ends. All Campers should be picked up no later than 8:30 am. Camper traveling by airplane should have flights departing between 9:00 am and 1:00pm.
July 11th Wednesday: Second term campers arrive! Flights should land between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Car drop offs should occur between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.
