The research says that even though most people intuitively know that a camp experience is great for kids, now there’s research to prove it. Camp helps kids:
  • Make new friends
  • Get to know campers who are different from them
  • Feel good about themselves
  • Try new things

Parents say their kids:
  • Gain self-confidence at camp
  • Continue to participate in activities learned at camp
  • Remain in contact with friends made at camp

These findings are among the results of a landmark study conducted by the American Camp Association with help from Lilly Endowment Inc. More than 5,000 families and 80 ACA-accredited camps participated in the largest study of camper outcomes ever conducted in the United States.
